Your first day as a manager
When you register at My Football Game you get a full club from day one: a squad covering every position, a transfer budget and a place on the global leaderboard. Your job is simple to say and hard to do - win matches and grow your club.
Start by opening your squad screen. Look at each player's overall rating and position. Your starting eleven should field your highest-rated player in every position, but keep an eye on who sits behind them: suspensions and injuries will test your depth sooner than you think.
Pick a formation that fits your squad
Don't copy a formation because a famous team uses it. If you have three strong forwards, play a front three. If your midfield is your strength, pack it. The match engine rewards teams whose tactics match their players' abilities, not teams with fashionable systems.
Set your set-piece takers before your first match. Free kicks, corners and penalties are decided by the players you assign, so give them to your most technical players - it wins games on fine margins.
Earn coins every single day
Coins are your fuel for transfers. The three reliable sources: the daily bonus (log in every day, it stacks up fast), match rewards from playing and winning, and selling players you don't need on the transfer market.
A common beginner mistake is hoarding a bloated squad. Sell your third-choice players early - the coins are worth more than a player who never plays.
Your first transfers
Head to the transfer market and filter by the position where your weakest starter plays. Upgrading your worst starting player improves your team more than making your best player slightly better.
Watch prices before you buy. Player values vary between sellers, and patience is often worth hundreds of coins. See our transfer market tips for a deeper strategy.
Challenge, learn, adapt
Play random challenges to test your team against a variety of opponents. After each match, read the events: where did you concede? Did your forwards get chances? Adjust one thing at a time - formation, mentality or personnel - and you'll feel your win rate climb.
Once you're comfortable, challenge your friends and start climbing the coach leaderboard. That's where the real bragging rights live.
