Why a season beats one-off matches
One-off matches are fun for ten minutes. A season gives every match a reason to matter: a table, a title race, a relegation fight and a prize at the end. That is the heart of every great football manager game, and it is what most free browser games are missing.
In My Football Game every club plays its own league season. You can play it in one evening or one matchday at a time over a week. The choice is yours, because you play each matchday when you are ready.
How the season is built
- 10 clubs per division — your club, your friends' clubs and computer-managed rivals filling the remaining places.
- 18 matchdays — a double round robin: you play every other club once at home and once away.
- Live simulation — every match plays out minute by minute with goals, cards, injuries, possession and expected goals (xG).
- A live table — standings update after every round, so you always know what each result means.
Promotion, relegation and five divisions
There are five divisions: the Amateur League, the Regional League, the National League, the Championship and the Elite League. Every new club starts at the bottom. The top two clubs in a division are promoted at the end of the season and the bottom two go down.
Higher divisions pay bigger season prizes but the rival clubs are stronger, so a squad that cruised to promotion can find itself in a relegation fight the next season. That is exactly the tension you want from a football manager career.
The board is watching
Before a season starts, the board predicts where your squad should finish and sets an objective: win the title, get promoted, finish in the top half or survive. Board confidence starts at 60 and moves after every result. Read how board confidence works to keep it on your side.
Tips for your first season
- Check your lineup before every matchday — injuries and suspensions happen, and an empty position costs goals.
- Win your home games against the bottom half — that is where promotion is won.
- Spend the season prize — upgrade your weakest starter on the transfer market before the next season.
- Invite a friend — friends' clubs join your division, which turns two matches a season into derbies.
