Why training is the value play
Transfers are instant but expensive. Training is slower but dramatically cheaper - and the improved player is yours, already fitting your tactics. Managers who train consistently field stronger squads at half the spend of managers who only buy.
Who to train first
Prioritize in this order:
- Starters just below your team's level - small gains here affect every match.
- Young players with room to grow - the long game, and future sale value.
- Your set-piece takers - their attributes decide converted free kicks and penalties.
Avoid training players you plan to sell soon unless you are deliberately raising their market value - which, done right, is a legitimate profit strategy.
Combine training with smart transfers
The elite pattern: buy potential, train it, sell finished players at a premium. Scan the transfer market for cheap players a few points below your starters, train them into the eleven, and sell the player they replaced. Your squad improves and your budget grows in the same move.
Boosts vs training: know the difference
Stat boosts from booster packs are temporary - perfect before a decisive match. Training is permanent. Do not confuse the two: boosts win a match, training wins a season. Use boosts for rivals and leaderboard pushes; use training every week regardless.
